Recently, Hewitt and I had the chance to visit his parents at Wild Dunes, just outside of Charleston, and it was a perfect taste of southern sunshine to end a week of temperatures in the 50s and rainy days in New York.
After an interesting taxi experience (don’t back down on flat rates) and barely making our flight out of JFK – we got to take in this sunset while we waited on the tarmac. What a wonderfully pleasant surprise.
We had a great time catching up with family, walking Rocky the bagel (beagle + basset hound adorableness) who’s quite cute…
…taking in sunshine, biking through beautiful neighborhoods and indulging on some delicious fresh seafood.
And miniature ice cream pies!
We spent most of Sunday on the beach and the boat – having brunch on Shem Creek and taking in the Isle of Palms and Dewees Island from the water.
Other positives (include but are not limited to): the Heels pulled off a win over Miami and our flight kept getting pushed back so we could squeeze in more time together. We also got some time with his cousin Dudley and his girlfriend Catherine who live in SC. Luckily for all of us, the Engrams will be in New York soon, and the holidays are just around the corner, so we’ll be seeing each other quite a bit. Thanks for having us – we had a blast! Hopefully next October, we can make our visit a longer one.
